Jesus the Kings: solution

In our current series of Talking Points, we are looking at the key points of the Gospel message – those fundamental points we need to know in order to share the Gospel simply. So far, we explored the first 2 elements of the Gospel message:
 God is the king of the World and He deserves our complete allegiance and obedience;
 All people have disobeyed God and rejected Him as king – that’s “sin.” Consequently, we deserve death.
These 2 elements lead us to a simple question, “What then shall we do?” This is the same question asked by a crowd in Acts 2:37. The answer for us is the same now as it was then – Jesus!

The Bible makes it very clear that Jesus is the only way of salvation. Jesus Himself said, “I am the
Way, the Truth and the Life; No one comes to the Father but by me.” (John 14:6)
Jesus has the exclusive right to claim the title of Saviour because He died for our sins : “God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans
5:8). This is a remarkable thought – that Jesus left Heaven’s glory, lived as a man and died the death that we deserve so that we might live: “For God so loved the World that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
More than that, this exclusive claim that Jesus has as Saviour is proved by the irrefutable fact that He was also raised from the dead. In this way, God vindicated Jesus’ claim and made clear that Jesus is the only Saviour sent by the King (Acts 2:24).
The wonderful truth is that Jesus’ work of salvation is fully complete and sufficient. When He died on the Cross, taking the penalty for our sin, He opened the door of salvation for anyone who would accept it. It is because Jesus is the fully sufficient Saviour that we can have confidence in Him and have assurance and certainty. Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need .”

It is because Jesus is the fully sufficient Saviour and Lord of our lives and our Church that He is the message of our Church. It is because of His finished work on the Cross that we exist. It is because He now sits as the Father’s right hand interceding for us that we have confidence for today. And it is for His glory that we do what we do. The most powerful testimony for Jesus, though, is personal stories
– showing people how Jesus has changed our lives.

The “Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ” is the most powerful message in the World because it deals with our greatest problem – our sin. Jesus has the exclusive right to be acknowledged as Saviour.
